The Institute is co-instructed by Ross Flaherty and Kay Kutchins, with special guest presenters from area utilities.  The format allows for discussion of participants’ interests.

 

2008 AWWA Water Utility Management Institute

The 2008 AWWA Water Utility Management Institute will be held April April 13-18 at the Hawthorne Suites Hotel , 2401 Brookhollow Plaza Dr. , Arlington, Texas.  Room rate is $85 per night plus taxes, etc. Room rates include a full breakfast each morning and a light food and beverage service each evening.  Room charges are in addition to the registration fee.  Hotel reservations may be made by contacting the hotel at (817) 640-1188.
 
The registration fee includes all instruction and materials, an opening reception and dinner, lunches and breaks.  The Hawthorne Suites Hotel has reserved a block of rooms for the Seminar. 

CLASS SCHEDULE

The Institute open on Sunday afternoon (3:00 p.m.), followed by a reception and dinner.  Class hours are:

Monday and Thursday  - 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
Tuesday and Wednesday - 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Friday - 8:30 a.m. to Noon.

The entire Institute is structured around group interaction and individual participation.  Our goals is to have participants look at critical elements of management through “new eyes” and to share their experiences in utility management with peers.  The Institute uses case studies to explore areas in communications, personnel matters, and problem-solving and decision-making.
