Why Become a Member of AWWA?
From 22 members in 1881, today AWWA is comprised of more than 57,000 individuals and organizations, including more than 4,200 utilities. The association is dedicated to advancing the technology, science and governmental policies relative to our crucial role as stewards of safe drinking water.
In Texas, the Texas Section of the American Water Works Association, or TAWWA, has nearly 3300 members representing utilities, operators, water supply corporations, MUDS, consulting firms and a host of others in the water profession who have found that the TAWWA represents them in the advancement of the technology of drinking water, and in the regulatory and legislative level in Austin.
TAWWA also provides leading edge training and workshop opportunities on the latest rule making issues with the TNRCC, conducts workshops on timely topics such as customer service, public involvement, safety, etc., and participates with AWWA in teleconference presentations on critical issues to the water profession. In addition, the Texas Section is committed to identifying and meeting the needs of smaller systems in Texas through the activities of our Growth Systems Committee.
All of this comes together each year at the largest and most important water conference in Texas, Texas Watersm, held each spring in partnership with the Water Environmental Association of Texas (WEAT).
